About Greg Fink:

I am a community activist, musician and family man dedicated to creating a better community while creating a positive atmosphere whether I am at work or home.  I served in the U.S. Air Force for 3 years before being medically discharged.  Upon coming home, I enrolled at University of West Florida specializing in public relations and advertising.  Since that time I have successfully organized and managed several communication and advertising driven campaigns (profit, non profit, political); published, wrote and designed several local newspapers and periodicals; performed as a musician and an entertainer on over 500 stages; and finally, am a single father of two children with Autism.  While utilizing my numerous skills, I greatly look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible about your next available employment position.

 Work Experience:

 Pensacola Voice — 2001 to Present:

I started working there as a freelance reporter starting in 2001 covering stories from local and regional politics to full and thorough and investigative stories.  Throughout the years I did several different duties ranging from sales to distribution to web design to editing and finally to full graphic design of the weekly newspaper.  The Pensacola Voice, started in 1965, is one of the largest and more established African American newspapers in the nation.  While there I have interviewed in part, or in full:  Florida Governor Rick Scott, Florida U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, Former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, Florida Lt. Gov. Frank Brogan, Florida Attorney General Charlie Crist, Florida Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher, Tallahassee Mayor Scott Maddox,  Former U.S. Rep. Bob Barr (R-GA), to just name a few.

Open Market Research — 2010 to 2013

 

While working as a founding member and majority owner of the advertising agency, Open Market Research, Inc., I organized and ran several full service communication campaigns.  I conducted polling (both live and Interactive Voice Response); approved and conducted digital and printed artwork; built and designed over 40 different websites; published several candidate campaign plans; wrote and produced several television and radio commercials; conducted media placement and planning strategies maximizing audience reach with generally limited budgets; and finally, conducted much needed crisis management, press conference organizing as well as opposition research for all corporate and political campaigns. Throughout my duration, I conducted nearly $250,000 in gross sales.

The Listener Group — 2007 & 2009

 

At the Listener Group, I was the Marketing Director as well as the Political and Public Affairs Director for the company. The Listener Group was a call center primarily focusing on market research as well as customer retention and lead generation surveys.  During my time there, I not only conducted the daily marketing details of press release and direct mail management; I also built, conducted and oversaw the public affairs surveys we conducted for several counties, municipalities and political clients across the nation.

The Panhandle Politico — 2007 to Present

 

I’ve served as the Publisher of the Panhandle Politico from November of 2007 until Present.  Primarily political in nature, TPP was a printed monthly publication with a circulation of 20,000 papers published and delivered per month.  Currently, we are primarily a website, although, printing may become a possibility for the future.

Military Experience:

 

I served in the United States Air Force from 1995 to 1998 with my MOS being Jet Engine Mechanic on Pratt Whitney F-100, F-15-, F-200, F-250 and F-300 series engines, which were used for the F-15 Eagle fighter jets.  While stationed at Langley AFB, I served on the crew which had one of the highest Quality Assurance scores in the entire USAF.

 

Education:

 

General Associates of Arts Degree from Pensacola State College, completed in 1998.

Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations and Minor in Political Communication.  Currently I am 8 credit hours away from graduation.

Writer, researcher and creator for speeches and debate strategies for the UWF Forensics (Speech and Debate) Team.  While on the team, from 1999 – 2001, we won numerous state, regional and national awards.

 

Community Service/Entertainment:

 

As a performer of five different instruments including piano, banjo, guitar, dobra and bass; I have performed and work to raise money and awareness for numerous charitable causes including Autism, Cancer, Diabetes, AIDS, Veteran Issues and Homeless Awareness.

 

I have performed on stage nearly 1,200 times since 1990.
